The Coachella Valley Education Foundation is a non-profit organization closely affiliated with the Coachella Valley Unified School District whose intent is to encourage more students from that district to attend college after graduation.
“The foundation’s focus is to help kids in CVUSD get into college and help them understand that college is for everyone, not just a select few,” says Lee Osborne, a member of the foundation’s board of directors. “The students are exposed to universities throughout the country, and as result more and more of them are attending college after graduating from Coachella Valley High School.”
The foundation’s Catch a Dream program at Coachella Valley High School is doing just that.

PSO Awards Annual Butvidas Scholarship
About Butvidas Scholarship
This scholarship is named in honor of the late Peter Butvidas, one of the founders of PS&O. A civic minded individual, Butvidas made numerous contributions to the east valley community during his life. He served as city councilman, city treasurer, and president for the chamber of commerce in the city of Indio. Anything having to do with education or children was very important to Peter, and in his name, our firm is happy to give the scholarships to the students who has prevailed.
Every year we award the Peter J. Butvidas Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to students in the 8th grade from the Coachella Vally Unified School District. The students are required to write an essay answering the following question: "It is June and you are graduating from high school. What are your future plans and how have you prepared yourself during your four years in high school to achieve your goals?"
