GETTING TO KNOW
Lee M. Osborne, CPA

Hometown: I was born in San Diego and grew up in El Centro. After high school, I returned to San Diego to earn my accounting degree from San Diego State University.

City of residence: I moved to the Coachella Valley in 1990 and have lived in La Quinta since 1992.

Family: My wife Nancy and I have five children, including our nephew.
Favorite weekend activity: Motorcycle riding and boating with my family.

Books on nightstand: "Hunting Trips of a Ranchman: by Theodore Rosevelt, The Breakthrough Company by Keith McFarland, and of course The Bible.

Favorite meal: Anything prepared by my wife. She is a great cook!

Why he’s involved in the community: I believe that community involvement is very important. A great community depends on people who care and are willing to get involved. I am very fortunate and honored to have been allowed to serve as a City Council member.

Why he loves being a CPA:
Someone once asked me if I get tired of looking at numbers all day. I told them that I look at those numbers to tell me where the business came from, where it is now and where it is going. I enjoy working with a business and the many challenges it brings, and helping my clients face those challenges.

Best advice for businesses: Plan, plan, plan. Many times a business owner is so busy working at the business that they do not take time to work on the business. This is where a CPA firm can come in and help business owners plan for growth and prepare to deal with the many challenges that arise.
