GETTING TO KNOW
Pedro Rincón, CPA,CVA

Hometown: Born at County USC General Hospital in Los Angeles; grew up in East Los Angeles.

City of residence: Moved from Los Angeles to La Quinta in 1998.

Family: My beautiful wife Brenda and adorable daughter Sarah, age 8-going-on-20. Favorite weekend activity: Adventures with my family and, during the fall, cheering on the USC football team!

Books on nightstand: “The Contrarian’s Guide to Leadership” by Steven B. Sample and “The Art of War” by Sun-tzu.

Favorite meal: My wife’s carne-con-chile and burritos from King Taco in East L.A.

Why he’s involved in the community: As a young man, I recall listening to Edward James Olmos give a speech at a dinner I attended. He mentioned you should never forget where you come from and the importance of giving back to your community. That has always stayed with me.

Why he loves being a CPA: I enjoy being able to provide my clients with information and advice that will help them grow their business.

Best advice for businesses: Identify what you do well and do it. If you don’t know something, hire someone that does. It may cost you some money, but in the long run it will save you some headaches.
